PYD co-chairs express their support for the Political Forces Alliance established in Rojhilat

Five leading parties in Rojhilatê (Eastern) Kurdistan—Partiya Demokratîk ya Kurdistanê-Îran-PDK-Î (Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan), Partiya Jiyana Azad ya Kurdistanê-PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan), Sazumanî Xebata Kurdistanê-Îran (Kurdistan Organization of Labor–Iran), Partiya Azadî ya Kurdistanê-PAK (Kurdistan Freedom Party), and Komeleya Zehmetkêşan ya Kurdistanê (Kurdistan Workers Association)— announced the establishment of the Iranian Kurdistan Political Forces Alliance on Sunday.

The co-chairs of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Perwîn Yûsif and Xerîb Hiso, issued a message regarding the initiative and said: “We express our full support for this step and our hope that this alliance will serve as the foundation for a new and broader phase of joint action. We also regard it as a path that serves the interests and rights of our people in Rojhilatê Kurdistan, safeguarding and advancing their decades-long struggle; and as a practical step toward strengthening Kurdish unity and a unified stance.”

The statement continued: “We hope that the political forces in the four parts of Kurdistan will lay the groundwork for a comprehensive national alliance by convening a Kurdistan national congress. This step must be taken in order to prevent all plans and attacks aimed at once again driving our people toward genocide, and to protect and strengthen all achievements attained throughout Kurdistan. We wish you success in these national efforts and see this as the beginning of an era of solidarity, unity, and historic responsibility.”
