The General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, and the Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Ilham Ehmed, are continuing their high-level meetings in Munich.
According to a written statement by the SDF, recent developments in Syria were discussed during the meeting with the German Foreign Minister. The parties evaluated issues related to supporting stability in the country and strengthening joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.
Mazloum Abdi thanked Germany for providing the opportunity to participate in the conference and highlighted the importance of the support given in the fight against ISIS. He also stressed that the continuation of international support is critical for stability, particularly for the implementation of the agreement signed on January 29 and for monitoring the process.
German Foreign Minister Wadephul reportedly expressed appreciation for the role played by the SDF in the fight against ISIS.
According to the statement, Wadephul also conveyed satisfaction with the agreement signed with the transitional government in Damascus and said that Germany would do its utmost to support the implementation of the agreement and contribute to Syria’s stability.
