ISIS families continue to escape from al-Hol Camp

Footage circulated by activists on digital media shows dozens of ISIS families escaping from al-Hol Camp in the eastern countryside of Heseke, without any visible security measures preventing their departure.

The images show the families openly leaving the camp without any security forces present to block or control their exit.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) withdrew from their positions at al-Hol Camp at the end of January following attacks carried out by HTS and ISIS militants.

Since then, activists and media outlets have published numerous documents showing how the leave of ISIS families from the camp has been facilitated.

Sources from human rights organizations and eyewitnesses told AFP that after the SDF’s withdrawal and the transfer of camp administration to the government, the vast majority of foreign ISIS families left the camp.
