The Kobanê Communication Office issued a statement regarding the internet outage caused by the latest attacks by the Turkish-backed mercenaries and militias affiliated with HTS-ISIS.
Kobanê Communication Office Co-Chair Evîn Şêx Ehmed read out the press statement on Sunday and noted that internet access in Kobanê has been cut off since January 18. She stated that the main facility supplying internet to Kobanê was completely destroyed, the cables providing internet to the city were deliberately cut, and vehicles belonging to the facility were stolen.
Ehmed emphasized that the internet outage is as vital as electricity and water and has therefore created a crisis atmosphere in the city of Kobanê. She remarked that all calls and requests to access the center and resolve the issue have been rejected.
Expressing their strong rejection of this act, Evîn Şêx Ehmed called on the relevant parties to provide safe passage for their teams in order to resolve the problem.
