In a statement on Sunday, the Council of Martyrs’ Families in Dirbêsiyê announced that they have established a military battalion to defend the city and the region.
Council Member Hindiye Bekir, accompanied by battalion members, read out the press statement, which said:“Following the attacks against Rojava and North and East Syria, and with the declaration of general mobilization, we, as the families of martyrs in Dirbêsiyê, have established a special battalion. We will continue to walk on the path of the martyrs until the goals for which they sacrificed their lives are achieved. We will continue to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the People’s Defense Units (YPG), and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ).”
