The number of MPs who signed the motion submitted to Parliament by independent MP Jeremy Corbyn—former leader of the UK Labour Party and a symbolic figure of the left—calling for the protection of the Autonomous Administration and opposing the attacks on Rojava, has reached 28.
Signatories to Corbyn’s motion included MPs from almost all parties represented in Parliament. From the Labour Party, figures such as Brian Leisman, Rebecca Long-Bailey, and Neil Duncan signed the motion. From the Green Party, Carla Denyer, Sian Berry, and Dr. Ellie Chowns were among the signatories, along with Plaid Cymru MPs from Wales including Liz Saville Roberts, Ben Lake, and Ann Davies. SNP MP Seamus Logan, Liberal Democrat MPs Christine Jardine and Andrew George, as well as Jim Shannon, an MP from Northern Ireland’s influential DUP, were also among those who signed Corbyn’s motion.
