The Human Rights Agency (HRANA) published a new report on the protests in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan. According to the report, at least 5,459 people were killed by Iranian state forces during protest actions across Iran and in Rojhilat Kurdistan. In addition, 40,887 protesters were detained and 7,403 protesters were injured.
It was stated that 5,149 of those killed were protesters. Among them were 60 children under the age of 18.
HRANA reported that the protests have not decreased; in response, the Iranian state has cut internet access, detained citizens, and intensified repressive policies.
According to the same report, 11,023 people were summoned by state security institutions.
Since 28 December 2025, protests have erupted across Iran and in Rojhilat Kurdistan against the economic crisis and political and social problems. Despite the Iranian state’s harshest methods of intervention, the protests continue to spread and intensify.
