The people of Hesekê greeted the convoys from Qamishlo with chants such as “Long live the Rojava Resistance,” “Long live the Kobanê Resistance,” “Long live the SDF Resistance,” and “Long live the YPJ Resistance.” During the welcoming speeches, it was emphasized that the people of Hesekê stand alongside the QSD, YPJ, and YPG fighters.
People said: “Let everyone know that Hesekê is with the SDF, YPJ, and YPG fighters. Whoever is armed against the attacks of the gangs, we, the people of Hesekê, are by their side.”
The YPJ fighters who greeted the people arriving from Qamishlo also made a statement paying tribute to all freedom martyrs and those who lost their lives in the struggle, and wishing for a speedy recovery to the wounded. Speaking on behalf of the YPJ, fighters saluted the honorable resistance of people from all the cities of Rojava and emphasized that the people are standing strong across the four parts of Kurdistan. The statement added: “In Bakur, Başûr, Rojhilat, and Rojava, our people are shouting with one voice in response to the attacks on Rojava: ‘Long live Rojava’s honorable resistance!’”
The speeches also drew attention to the “dirty conspiracies” and “dirty plans” targeting the Kurdish people. It was noted that “coalition forces and some groups claiming to fight against ISIS are supporting the al-Jolani (al-Sharaa) administration, aiming to create a jihadist and Salafi state. This stance was condemned.”
At the end of the statement, an appeal was made to international institutions: “Raise your voices, uphold your morals and laws.”
The statement concluded with the YPJ fighter addressing people: “As the children of this people, we will resist to the end and will never surrender. Surrender is betrayal.”
