From the early morning hours, SDF fighters pulled back from al-Aqtan Prison to Kobanê.
Al-Aqtan Prison in Raqqa, where thousands of ISIS militants are held, had been surrounded by gangs backed by the Turkish state, ISIS, and HTS. Violent attacks against the prison continued for days. ISIS detainees held in the prison attempted to escape many times. However, all these attempts were repelled as a result of the unique, days-long resistance of the SDF and YPG–YPJ fighters.
