Damascus factions and Turkish-backed mercenaries attacked the positions of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in the town of Sirrin, south of Kobanê, on Wednesday.
SDF and YPJ fighters responded to the attack and destroyed an armored vehicle belonging to the mercenaries. According to reports, several mercenaries were killed as a result of the action.
In the meantime, the militias are reported to be conducting intensive bombardment on the villages of Jada, Quba and Hamdash in Kobane.
The southern part of Kobane city has been subjected to heavy attacks since yesterday as the government factions seek to expand the area under their control and tighten the siege on the city. Residents are suffering from water and electricity outages. Internet connection was also cut off in the city.
