Foza Yusif: To prevent genocide, millions must come together

Speaking on a special program broadcast on JIN TV, Foza Yusif, a member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), said the public must respond more strongly to the call for mobilization.

Foza Yusif said: “Today is a day of national honor, a day to defend women’s achievements and values.” She noted that HTS is insisting on continuing the war, adding that they have made great efforts to prevent further bloodshed.

Yusif said that, alongside Damascus, “regional powers are both provoking and supporting the continuation of the war,” adding: “They are also waging the war.”

Pointing out that serious dangers persist, Yusif emphasized the importance of the entire society arming itself against the attacks, stressing resistance and self-defense.

Adding that the war is very widespread, Yusif said: “The SDF or the YPJ cannot handle this alone; a people’s war must develop, and the people must protect themselves.”

Underlining the importance of today’s protest in Nusaybin, Foza Yusif said the danger is great. She called on the public, saying: “To prevent these genocidal attacks, millions must come together. Actions like today’s must continue, and our people must come to Rojava.”

Stating that mobilization must continue, Foza Yusif said: “To stop the attacks, our people in North Kurdistan and in Başûr can come directly to the region. Kurdish young people, Kurdish young women must turn their faces toward Rojava. The threat facing the Kurdish people is very serious. If this massacre and occupation succeed in Rojava, the other parts will also be taken. If Rojava falls, Bakur and Başûr will fall as well. We must act with this awareness and continue our struggle day and night; we must remain on our feet and in action at all times.”

Foza Yusif said that HTS and the states playing, or seeking to play, a role in the region have formed a dirty alliance, and stated that there would be no sitting at the table with HTS because they are imposing war.

Referring to the stance taken by the Kurdish people and other peoples during the 2014–2015 Kobanê resistance, Foza Yusif said a similar position is needed today, adding, “With persistence, determination, a clear response, and our stance and strength, we can break the balance.”

Foza Yusif emphasized that everyone must live with Rojava 24 hours a day until the resistance achieves results.

Calling for pressure on the international public, Foza Yusif also said regarding the disinformation carried out by HTS, “Every journalist must be the eyes and the voice of this resistance.”

Stating that the Kurdish people and Kurdish women are under the threat of genocide, Foza Yusif continued: “They want to take women back to the ISIS era. Women must defend their achievements and their system. Everyone must unite their voice with the voice of the women of Rojava.”
