In a statement about the increasingly ongoing attacks on North-East Syria and the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), the Central Committee of Turkey’s Communist Party Marxist-Leninist (TKP-ML) said the following:
“The Rojava Revolution is facing a new military aggression by international and regional reactionary forces. In the face of the wars, invasions, and massacres carried out by imperialists and regional reactionary forces in the Middle East, the Autonomous Administration, which is an important bastion of resistance and has adopted a progressive, populist line based on women’s freedom, is sought to be eliminated and rendered “acceptable” to imperialist and regional reactionary forces.
To this end, while the attacks by the HTS militias, declared as the Syrian Interim Government, are facilitated, pressure is exerted on the Autonomous Administration through various diplomatic talks.
It is clear that imperialists and regional reactionary forces, primarily Turkey, are behind this attack on the Autonomous Administration. Indeed, it is no coincidence that these attacks, which started on January 6 in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah in Aleppo, where Kurds have lived for centuries, began immediately after the agreement in Paris, between the Syrian Interim Government and Israel, in which the Turkish state was also involved.
With the Salafi jihadist HTS militias brought to power in Syria, the policy of massacres that had initially targeted Alawites and Druze has now been directed at the Kurdish people and the Rojava Revolution. Neighborhoods in Aleppo that were home to hundreds of thousands of people have been blockaded, and attacks have been launched with Turkey’s incitement and the approval of the US and Israel. An international concept has been put into action, targeting the status and gains achieved by the peoples of the region, primarily the Kurdish nation, through the Rojava Revolution.
The primary objective of the Turkish state, which is directly coordinating these attacks, is to completely eliminate the Rojava Revolution and Autonomous Administration. If this cannot be achieved, the goal is to prevent the peoples of the region, primarily the Kurds, from gaining even the slightest advantage.
Defending the Rojava Revolution and its achievements is of historic importance. Taking to the streets to defend the Rojava Revolution is an international duty.”
