Masoud Barzani’s office issued a statement about today’s meeting (Saturday) in Hewlêr (Erbil). According to the statement, the meeting was attended by KDP President Masoud Barzani; U.S. Special Representative for Syria Tom Barrack; U.S. Ambassador to Hewlêr Wendy Green; U.S. Commander of Syria Forces Kevin Lambert; SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) General Commander Mazloum Abdi; Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani; Co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria Ilham Ahmed; and ENKS President Mohammed Ismail.
The statement said that the situation in Syria and recent developments were discussed during the meeting, and emphasized that solutions should be based on dialogue, consensus, and peaceful means.
It was reported that Masoud Barzani stated during the meeting that the rights of the Kurdish people must be guaranteed in Syria’s future.
The statement also noted that practical steps toward building peace were assessed and proposals were put forward.
