At least 120,000 people have been displaced and more than 500 are missing as a result of attacks carried out by militias affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyah, and Beni Zed in Aleppo.
According to reports from the United Nations and human rights organizations, 120,000 people were displaced and went missing as a result of attacks which began on January 6.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that approximately 120,000 people remain displaced.
The Office stated that most of the displaced persons have settled in neighboring areas lacking basic services and that humanitarian needs, particularly in the areas of shelter, food, and health, have become even more urgent.
OCHA stated that the attacks caused significant damage to infrastructure, civilian homes, and service facilities, thereby hindering humanitarian aid efforts.
Citing information obtained from field teams and families of the martyrs, the Afrin Human Rights Organization stated that the number of those missing as a result of the attacks has exceeded 500 so far.
Humanitarian organizations warn that the humanitarian situation in Aleppo has deteriorated due to ongoing military clashes and attacks on Deir Hafer and Maskanah, and the lack of any real guarantee for the protection of civilians or the safe return of displaced persons.
