The Media Center of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) said that the transitional government in Damascus is waging a form of psychological warfare on social media platforms, falsely claiming that its mercenaries have captured women fighters from the YPJ in the city of Aleppo.
“We affirm that these claims are entirely false and are intended to spread misinformation and conduct psychological warfare against society,” said the YPJ statement.
YPJ fighter Kurdistan Amad, who had previously been taken captive, was liberated by YPJ forces and is now fulfilling her national duty.
Speaking after her release, Kurdistan Amad extended her greetings to the steadfast resistance of the residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, stating: “The actions carried out by the mercenaries of the transitional government constitute a heinous crime against the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh. The false news they spread regarding our alleged capture has no basis in truth and aims to break the will of peoples. Therefore, as women fighters of the Women’s Protection Units, we remain fully prepared to give everything we can in defense of the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh.”
