Preparations continue for 10 January march to demand justice for Paris massacres

In the suburb of Villiers-le-Bel, near the French capital Paris, outreach efforts are continuing for the “Justice for Truth” march set to take place on January 10, organized to protest the two Paris massacres and to commemorate those who were killed: Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan, Leyla Şaylemez, Evîn Goyî, Mir Perwer, and Abdurrahman Kızıl.

Led by the Martyr Evîn Goyî Women’s Assembly, with the participation of the Villiers-le-Bel Youth Assembly and the Villiers-le-Bel Democratic Kurdish People’s Assembly, poster campaigns were carried out throughout the day. Homes of families from Kurdistan living in Villiers-le-Bel were visited, along with local shops and cafés. During these visits, it was emphasized that through both massacres carried out in Paris, the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom was directly targeted.

It was recalled that 13 years have passed since the first Paris massacre and three years since the second, and it was stated that the cases are being deliberately drawn out in an attempt to consign them to oblivion and leave them unresolved. During the visits, it was emphasized that the Kurdish people will never forget these massacres and will not abandon their search for justice until accountability is ensured.

It was also stressed that for the Peace and Democratic Society Process initiated by Abdullah Öcalan to progress in a healthy manner and for both Öcalan and the Kurdish people to attain freedom, the massacres must be fully clarified, and the struggle must be expanded.

As part of the ongoing efforts, a call was issued to all people gathering on January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Gare du Nord, to raise their voices together for truth and justice.
