The Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) released a statement regarding the popular protests that have been ongoing for five days across Iran and in Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan).
PJAK stated that the new popular resistance movement, which began on December 28, 2025, was launched to condemn the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran targeting economic and social life, saying the following: “The Islamic Republic has divided all communities in Iran from one another through policies of killing, suppression, silencing, and fragmentation for nearly half a century. The Islamic Republic of Iran is trying to maintain its power by creating social crises through various methods. For nearly half a century, the Islamic Republic has tried to divide Iranian society by polarizing it and impoverishing the people through its policies of killing, oppression, and silencing.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been the source of economic crises due to its plundering of all Iranian wealth, and its use of this wealth for war and to support radical groups in other countries.
Any stance, struggle, or popular uprising, in this stagnant and crisis-ridden situation, will enable all segments of Iranian society subjected to oppression and tyranny to make their voices heard. There is no other way out of crises and no other solution to problems; the only way is unity and solidarity. This is the continuation of the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ Revolution. The more united we are, the more our destiny is tied to a colorful and united struggle. As PJAK, our fundamental philosophy is ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’; we are diverse and we support all democratic initiatives against dictatorship, drawing attention to the following:
* The Islamic Republic’s attempts to silence the legitimate demands of the people will be futile. It should be known that, thanks to the struggle and will of the people, the regime has heard the voice of the people’s revolution and has no solution other than to yield to the people’s demands.
* Every uprising and movement in Iran is a continuation of the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ Revolution and is centered on the demand for freedom and opposition to centralization and discrimination. Any attempt against this is an attempt to divert this struggle and distort the truth of the people’s revolution.
* The ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ Revolution imposes no limits on any identity, struggle, or demands. The peoples of Iran have lived under oppression and repression for 100 years and are now demanding their rights. Every struggle against dictatorship is a step toward winning rights and freedoms.
* For this popular movement to continue healthily on democratic foundations, the leadership of women and youth must be prioritized. What guarantees a free life and protects gains is the struggle for women’s freedom. Women, university students, and students are both the leaders and the power of the revolution.
We believe that the Iranian people have embraced the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî Revolution’ as their ultimate choice for democracy and a free life. The Iranian people’s march for freedom will succeed in democratic unity.”
