Iranian security forces have arrested six more men in recent days as part of a continuing wave of detentions of Kurdish citizens and activists, taking them to undisclosed locations, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported.
On 15 December, Soran Dorjedor, from Piranshahr in West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested in the city, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
On 18 December, three residents of the village of Sarchenar in Miandoab, West Azerbaijan Province – Salar Ostad-Ahmadi, Hassan Ramezani and Bahman Ahmadzadeh – were beaten and arrested without a warrant.
At the same time, security forces arrested Mohammad Abbasi, a resident of the village of Gogjali in Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, and Obeyd Souri, from the village of Shin Abad in the same county.
KHRN’s data indicates that, over the past two weeks, the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence have arrested at least 51 Kurdish citizens and activists across Marivan, Bukan, Orumiyeh, Piranshahr, Mashhad, Miandoab, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Oshnavieh, Abdanan and Naqadeh.
All detainees are being held without access to legal counsel or contact with their families.
KHRN reported that while two individuals were transferred to Mahabad Prison in recent days, the whereabouts and condition of most of those detained remain unknown.
