Kobanê University and Poland’s Szczecin University signed an agreement aimed at promoting the publication of regional and international academic research. Co-Presidents of Kobanê University, Şervan Mislim and Xezne İbrahim, together with Kesta Mihemed Ibrahim, Co-President of Szczecin University in Poland, signed the agreement via Zoom.
Kobanê University outlined the provisions proposed for its benefit as follows:
1- Support program for the establishment of academic laboratories: Both sides will cooperate in setting up training and research laboratories at Kobanê University in the fields of applied sciences, languages and social studies, with technical and advisory support from Szczecin University.
2- Creation of a joint digital platform for education and instruction: Both parties commit to establishing a shared digital education platform that will enable students and academics at Kobanê University to participate in online courses, classes and seminars offered by Szczecin University.
3- Sharing opportunities for administrative training: Members of the administrative staff at Kobanê University will have the opportunity to join training programs held at Szczecin University in order to gain experience in university administration, quality development and academic accreditation.
4- Academic cooperation program: Faculty members of Kobanê University will participate in short- or long-term academic cooperation programs with Szczecin University to strengthen their research competencies.
5- Development of academic language and cooperation in English-language research: Special courses will be organized for Kobanê University faculty members and undergraduate students to enhance academic language proficiency and improve skills in writing research in English.
6- Support for the establishment of a joint scientific journal: Both sides will collaborate in creating a joint scientific journal to be published by Kobanê University, with support from Szczecin University, to promote the publication of regional and international academic research.
7- Annual academic visit program: Annual joint visits to Szczecin University will be organized for faculty members and students of Kobanê University to facilitate the exchange of academic experience and to familiarize participants with the European educational environment.
8- Knowledge exchange in energy and sustainable development: The cooperation aims to develop joint projects in Kobanê in the fields of renewable energy and environmental sustainability, supported by the scientific expertise of Szczecin University.
9- Participation of Kobanê University in European Union projects: Szczecin University will support Kobanê University in taking part as an academic partner in projects run by the European Union or by international institutions working in higher education and scientific research.
10- Establishment of an International Cooperation Coordination Unit at Kobanê University: With the support of Szczecin University, a specialized unit will be established at Kobanê University to advance international relations and develop future cooperation initiatives.
11- Program for the development of modern materials: Szczecin University will provide technical and advisory assistance to modernize the materials of Kobanê University so that they meet labor-market needs and align with European educational standards.
12- Academic exchange project between departments.
