The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD), in cooperation with the Future Syria Party, held a public meeting in the city of Til Temir in the Cizîr Canton. The meeting was attended by Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, and Assyrian locals, tribal leaders, members of civil society organizations, and opinion leaders.
MSD Co-Chair Mahmoud al-Meslet, MSD Diplomatic Relations Office Head Hisên El Ezam, and MSD Political Office member Wail Mîrza chaired the meeting which discussed and evaluated the recent political developments.
Mahmoud al-Meslet stated that it is impossible to establish a new Syria without national reconciliation and genuine dialogue among Syrians. He stressed that projects imposed from outside that exclude some Syrians only deepen the crisis.
The MSD Co-Chair stated that the only way out of the crisis is through dialogue and that the MSD has made this its primary goal. He added that MSD continues its efforts to open the doors of dialogue to all national forces.
Al-Meslet emphasized that any project proposed for Syria must guarantee the rights of all Syrian components and Syria’s cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
The MSD Co-Chair continued: “If we truly want to end the war and the crisis, we must put the interests of the Syrian people above all else. Our project is clear: broad national reconciliation, dialogue among Syrians, a democratic, decentralized state that protects the dignity of its citizens, and providing a stable state for future generations.”
Participants then asked questions about the region’s future, ways to improve security and services, and the role of political institutions in addressing economic challenges. Participants emphasized the importance of involving all regional components in decision-making processes affecting the region.
At the end of the meeting, questions were answered. It was stressed that efforts should be combined to raise the level of political and social dialogue and maintain regional stability in the next phase.
