The Tabqa-Aleppo road was closed on September 27 by Syrian Transitional Government forces. The road was reopened to vehicle traffic on Thursday.

Drivers traveling from Tabqa to Aleppo said the transitional government forces at the Hemîme checkpoint informed them that the road would be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., would be closed in the evening, and that only patients would be allowed to pass.
