Mehmet Karaca was released this evening. He was detained on 21 November 2024 in Berlin, and held for a year in Berlin Moabit Prison on charges of “membership in the PKK.”
Following Karaca’s release, many people, including representatives of civil society organizations and his relatives, gathered in front of the prison. Karaca, who was welcomed with applause, thanked the institutions and individuals who had supported him.
Mehmet Karaca said that a comprehensive statement regarding the legal process would be issued in the coming days.
