At a press conference at the DEM Party headquarters, spokesperson Halide Türkoğlu stated that the party intends to mobilize door-to-door and at the neighborhood level this year.
The events will take place within the framework of the ongoing peace and democratization process. According to Türkoğlu, the women’s movement within the party bears a special responsibility in this context. The fight against gender-based violence is inextricably linked to the commitment to peace and social change, she stated.
“As women, we are at the forefront when it comes to resisting patriarchal violence and political repression. Our commitment on November 25 is part of our contribution to the democratization of the country,” said Türkoğlu.
The actions are to extend beyond November 25 and be organized locally in neighborhoods, villages, and women’s initiatives. Workshops, home visits, discussion forums, and public statements are planned.
