On Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense in the Damascus government falsely accused the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of targeting its members with a missile in the Tishrin Dam countryside.
SDF Media Center obtained video footage showing the transport of the bodies of a number of members of the Damascus government forces, who were killed as a result of a landmine explosion near a military point located within the areas under their control in the Tishrin Dam countryside on Wednesday.
“The footage clearly shows that the fatal injuries came from below, which confirms that the explosion occurred directly under the individuals with a vertical explosion, providing conclusive evidence that it was an internal landmine explosion, and not a missile or external strike,” said the SDF statement.
SDF said the video also showed the bodies being transported without any protection or security measures, confirming that there was no hostile presence or opposition force in the area, and no indication of a deliberate external attack.
“Accurate information indicates that the landmine responsible for the explosion had been planted earlier by factions affiliated with the Damascus government around a military point affiliated with it, and that the explosion occurred as a result of negligence and poor coordination between those factions.”
SDF pointed out that: “By attempting to attribute the incident to our forces through fabricated accounts and false accusations, the Ministry of Defense of the Damascus government is only seeking to cover up its operational failures and continue its policy of misinformation and distortion of facts for incitement and politically suspicious purposes.”
The Syrian Democratic Forces affirmed its full commitment to the truth and transparency in conveying facts to public opinion, and called on all media outlets to avoid being misled by false government statements and to rely on documented field evidence and reliable sources in their reports.
