Druze delegation from Suwayda visits Kurdish association in Hannover

A delegation from the Syrian city of Suwayda, consisting of representatives of the Druze community in Europe, visited the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DKTM) in Hannover.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen solidarity between peoples and to develop common grounds for struggle. During their meeting with DKTM administrators, the Druze delegation engaged in a comprehensive exchange of ideas on possible future joint projects, cultural events, and solidarity activities.

The talks highlighted the importance of taking a united stance against the pressures faced by the Kurdish and Druze communities. The parties stated that the spirit of unity in the peoples’ struggle for freedom and democracy must be strengthened.

During the meeting, the Druze delegation and DKTM officials also discussed the “Freedom March for Leader Öcalan” to be held in Cologne on November 8. Both sides called on all peoples, and especially the Druze community, to participate in the march and jointly voice their demands for freedom.

A joint statement issued at the end of the visit noted that strengthening the historical bonds of friendship between the Kurdish and Druze peoples is of great importance for peace in the region and the common future of the peoples. The parties stated that mutual dialogue, solidarity, and the spirit of joint struggle will continue to grow.
