The Imrali Delegation of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) is expected to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 28. Details regarding the location and time of the meeting have not yet been shared.
DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit confirmed that a meeting between the two sides was planned.
“It would be more appropriate for both our Imralı Delegation and perhaps the President’s press office to make an announcement on this matter; but such a plan is being worked on,” Koçyiğit stated.
President Erdoğan had previously met with the DEM Party Imrali Delegation twice.
The first meeting took place on April 10 at the Presidential Palace. The delegation included Van MP Pervin Buldan and Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who has since passed away.
The second meeting was held on July 7, again at the Presidential Palace. Pervin Buldan and Urfa MP Mithat Sancar attended this meeting, where AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala and MIT President İbrahim Kalın were also present. The meeting lasted approximately one hour.
