Reports say that forces affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government tortured and abducted some Kurdish youths living in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods of Aleppo. According to local sources, the incidents took place at different points in the city during the day.
According to the information available, armed individuals affiliated with the 60th, 72nd, and 76th Brigades of the Syrian Transitional Government’s Ministry of Defense stopped young people at checkpoints they had set up around the neighborhoods in question. These forces physically assaulted the young people and forcibly detained some of them.
According to witnesses, one of the incidents took place near Culture Park, close to the Aleppo Culture Directorate building. Here, armed individuals dressed in black and wearing masks stopped several young people, abducting two of them and attacking another. It was reported that the group then left the area in a white vehicle.
According to ANHA, more than seven Kurdish youths were abducted in different parts of Aleppo throughout the day. There is still no clear information about where the youths were taken or what happened to them.
