Lawyers from Asrın Law Office, Mazlum Dinç, Rezan Sarıca, Suzan Akipa, and Emran Emekçi met with Abdullah Öcalan in the prison island of Imrali in the Sea of Marmara since 1999.
The lawyers also met with Öcalan’s fellow prisoners, Hamili Yıldırım, Ömer Hayri Konar, Mahmut Yamalak and Ergin Atabey.
The last confirmed meeting between Öcalan and his lawyers took place on September 15. It was the first meeting with his lawyers after several years of contact being blocked. Previously, there had been a meeting on August 7, 2019. A statement on the content of today’s visit will reportedly be made in the coming days.
