This morning, a group of gunmen belonging to the Damascus government attempted to infiltrate one of the positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of the Tishrin (Tishreen) Dam area.
According to the SDF statement on Thursday, the group used hand grenades in an effort to target SDF fighters and destabilize the region.
SDF stated that their forces immediately engaged the attacking group, leading to direct clashes that resulted in the death of one of the attackers, while the others fled the scene, leaving the body of their fallen member behind.
“Our forces exercised their legitimate right to self-defense in responding to the threat and thwarting the infiltration attempt, reaffirming their steadfastness in protecting our people and ensuring the stability of the region,” the statement said.
