Zuhêr Efrîn, one of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commanders on the Deir Hafer front, said that his forces are currently deployed on the northern front line of the village of Resm El Felah, the ceasefire line between the SDF and the Transitional Government forces.
Speaking to ANHA, Efrîn stated that the SDF is prepared to respond to any violation or new attack in the region, noting that SDF fighters have responded directly to attacks in order to protect the lives of civilians and maintain the security of the region.
Efrîn rejected all claims by the Transitional Government media and Turkish-backed mercenaries that the SDF had launched an attack, stating: “These claims are not true. We are complying with the ceasefire agreements concluded with the Transitional Government. They, however, violated it and attacked civilians. We are here to protect the region, and we will not allow their lies to spread.”
Referring to the war launched through the media alongside the attacks, Efrîn said that Syrian government forces circulated propaganda-based statements and images. “They reported several times that they had taken control of the city of Deir Hafer. The information they spread is part of the media war,” he said.
Zuhêr Efrîn stated that all SDF fighters on the Deir Hafer fronts were from different components and sects in the region, including Arabs, Kurds, Alevis, Druze, and tribal members.
“We promise the people of North and East Syria that we will defend these lands with all our might. The occupying forces will not pass through. We will remain committed to this promise,” he concluded.
