On Tuesday, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Commander Mazloum Abdi, Autonomous Administration co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations Ilham Ahmed, and Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) Commander Rohilat Afrin met in Damascus with Ahmed al-Sharaa, president of the Syrian Interim Government and Foreign Minister Asad Shibani.
The Northern and Eastern Syria negotiation delegation released a statement regarding their meeting with representatives of the Syrian Interim Government in Damascus.
The delegation said that four main topics were discussed during the meeting, but no official document was signed.
It stated that a verbal proposal was made for the integration of the SDF and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in order to establish a unified army representing all the people of Syria.
The delegation also reported that both sides agreed to implement a general and urgent ceasefire in North and East Syria and Aleppo, and to amend the Syrian constitution with the participation of all its components.
