Autonomous Administration and the Transitional Government meet in Damascus

A delegation from the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria traveled to Damascus this morning to meet with the transitional government as part of ongoing efforts to implement the provisions of the March 10 agreement signed between the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) Command and the transitional government.

The Autonomous Administration delegation consisted of Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazlum Abdi, Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department Ilham Ahmed, Commander of the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) Rohilat Efrin. The Transitional Government was represented by President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaibani.

No statement was made following the meeting, which addressed the implementation of the March 10 Agreement and political and security issues.

On October 6, a meeting was held between the Women’s Protection Units, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the U.S. Ambassador on the March 10 Agreement.

Rohilat Afrin, Commander of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), and Mazlum Abdi, General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), received the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, together with Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of the United States Central Command, who headed a U.S. delegation from the International Coalition.

The meeting was also attended by Ilham Ahmed, Co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Ahmad al-Mahbash, President of the Syrian Future Party, and Ghassan al-Yousef, Deputy Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC).

Discussions focused on practical steps to accelerate the implementation of the March 10 Agreement signed between the Transitional Government and the SDF leadership. The agreement is expected to contribute to lifting sanctions on Syria, creating a safe environment for investment and development, and ensuring suitable conditions for the return of displaced people to their areas.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the ongoing partnership between the International Coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces in the fight against ISIS, as well as to strengthening efforts aimed at promoting stability and security in the region, in a way that guarantees the unity of Syrian territory.
