With the ongoing security and military efforts, units from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were able to arrest an ISIS terrorist cell consisting of three members in the town of Al-Takihi east of Deir ez-Zor countryside.
According to the SDF Media Center, the operation came after close monitoring of the cell members’ movements, which was preparing to carry out terrorist attacks targeting the security and stability of the region.
SDF said that their forces imposed a tight security circle around the location and arrested them without any casualties.
“During the operation, weapons and documents were seized which prove the arrested individuals’ affiliation with ISIS, confirming their involvement in planning terrorist operations that threaten the lives of civilians,” according to the SDF statement on Wednesday.
The Syrian Democratic Forces reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing the remnants of ISIS, the sleeper cells, and to thwart the attempts that aim to destabilize security and stability in Northern and Eastern Syria.
“We emphasize that we will continue to fulfill our national and humanitarian duty to protect our people and preserve their gains,” the SDF added.
