Hassan Mohammed Ali, co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council MSD Public Relations Office, participated in a Labour Party rally and a public meeting at the Liverpool Rojava Cultural Center.
Hassan Mohammed Ali took part in a session held within the framework of the Labour Party’s 2025 Conference titled “Standing with the Kurds: Advancing Justice, Strengthening Autonomy, Building a New Syria.”
Ali discussed the ongoing struggle for Kurdish rights, the pursuit of autonomy and democracy in Northern and Eastern Syria, and how the UK labor movement can show solidarity with those building a just and democratic alternative in the region.
The session, chaired by MP Peter Lamb, included speakers Simon Dubbins, MP Bambos Charalambous, Mo Bakhtiar, as well as Mohammed Ali himself.
The MSD representative later attended the public meeting at the Liverpool Rojava Kurdish Community Center.
In his speech, Hassan Mohammed Ali emphasized their determination to advance politically after the heavy sacrifices made in the struggle. He said: “Very heavy prices have been paid; from now on we do not want to suffer further losses. We will protect and develop the results of these sacrifices through politics.
This meeting of yours is very valuable; the world has entered a process of change and transformation. The Sykes-Picot order has collapsed, new trade routes are opening, and these routes will soon transcend borders in the Middle East. For example, states made agreements in the Mediterranean, but Turkey was left outside these agreements.
New trade routes were opened via China. In this process, Turkey faced two options: either to eliminate the Kurds or to reach an agreement with them. Until today, they attacked the Kurds militarily, politically, through the media, and even with chemical weapons, but they did not succeed. Now they are forced to come to terms with the Kurds, because these new trade routes pass through Kurdistan, and stability in trade is crucial.”
