Two-month-old baby injured in Deir Hafer massacre dies, bringing death toll to 8

On the evening of 20 September, groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government carried out a massacre against civilians in the village of Umm Tina, in the Deir Hafer countryside, east of Aleppo.

Seven civilians were killed in the attack, including children between the ages of one and four, as well as elderly women in their seventies. Four others were injured in the artillery shelling carried out by the Damascus government’s armed groups.

Two-month-old Omer Ebduleziz Hemze succumbed to his injuries on Monday despite all the efforts made to save him at hospital.

This brings the death toll from the massacre to 8.
