Druze protest against the HTS in Strasbourg: “Murderer Jolani”

Druze living in the French city of Strasbourg protested against the attacks on Suwayda.

Members of the Democratic Kurdish Community Center in Strasbourg also participated in Saturday’s protest, waving YPG and YPJ flags.

Protesters displayed photos of victims of the attacks in Suwayda, and banners drawing attention to the massacres, chanting “Murderer Jolani”.

Speakers emphasized that HTS is not a legitimate structure and is responsible for massacres as a jihadist organization, denouncing the attacks against the Druze, Kurds, Alawites, and other ethnic and religious groups. They called upon Europe and the international community to take responsibility against such attacks.

Activists emphasized that by legitimizing HTS leader Jolani, all European states, primarily the French President Emmanuel Macron, are also legitimizing the massacres against opposition groups, particularly the Druze and Alawites.

The protesters stated that HTS and other jihadist mercenaries have deepened the crisis in Syria, warning that the silence of the international community will lead these massacres to continue increasingly.

Speaking at the demonstration, Kurdish politician Fayik Yağızay emphasized the need to establish a system in Syria where all peoples can live together.

Yağızay stated that, in addition to implementing a political structure based on equality and freedom, European institutions must also support the peace and decentralized resolution processes in the region.

Activists called on European states to stop the massacres in Syria and prosecute war criminals. They demanded a decentralized, egalitarian, and libertarian Syria.
