The Internal Security Forces said in a written statement that they carried out an operation on 13 September at dawn, in Raqqa. The security operation benefited from the coordination with the Counterterrorism Units (HAT).
According to the Press Center of the Internal Security Forces, the operation dismantled an ISIS cell consisting of 8 members. All mercenaries were arrested.
The statement added that a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was seized and noted that the dismantled cell had been planning attacks targeting the region’s security and stability.
The Internal Security Forces underlined that operations against such groups will continue and called on citizens to report any suspicious activities to the security forces.
