According to data compiled by women’s news agency Jinnews, 28 women and 5 children were murdered in August, while 25 women and 7 children died under suspicious circumstances.
Two women were killed by their sons, four women by perpetrators whose relationship to them is unknown, four women killed by men they were divorcing, 12 women were killed by their spouses, three women by their partners, one woman by her employer, one woman by her ex-husband, one woman by acquaintances, and one woman by her relatives.
Two women were murdered in Adana, one in Antalya, two in Trabzon, one in Denizli, one in Karabük, one in Edirne, one in Ankara, one in Isparta, one in Balıkesir, one in Mardin, one in Kayseri, two in Mersin, two in Muğla, one in Urfa, two in Istanbul, two in Amed, one in Aydın, one in Ağrı, one in Konya, one in Kocaeli, one in Antep, and one in Bursa.
