U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Brad Cooper met with Mazlum Abdi, the General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as part of his visit to Northern and Eastern Syria.
It was reported that the CENTCOM Commander said Washington’s support for the SDF would continue. He emphasized that, alongside the joint fight against terrorism, maintaining security in ISIS camps and protecting prisons holding ISIS detainees would also remain a priority.
The meeting also addressed the current state of dialogue with the Syrian Transitional Government. Mazlum Abdi was said to have reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the March 10 Agreement and continuing the negotiation process, while stressing the importance of steps by the Syrian Transitional Government to build trust.
