Kurdish young people are raising their voices from different European cities for the Long March to be held between September 9 and 13, starting from Cologne in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) state and moving towarda Dortmund, where the 33rd International Kurdish Culture Festival will take place. Young people who gathered in Duisburg, Paris, and Frankfurt called for participation in the march for a free life to be advanced under the leadership of women. Emphasizing that the action will be carried out for the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan, the youth declared: “Join the Long March for a free life.”
Theatrical call from NRW youth
A call came from young people in NRW for the Long March to be held in Germany to achieve the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. Gathering in Duisburg, the youth addressed all Kurds through a video they prepared with a theatrical performance.
The youth declared: “Put aside all the darkness in your mind and walk toward freedom,” and underlined that the march will take place under the leadership of women and youth.
Call for a free life from Paris
Preparations continue in various European cities, and young people who gathered in Paris also released a video call for the Long March. In the call, which was supported by artists, writers, and athletes, the youth said: “For a free life, for a democratic society, for a communal life, for society to live together freely, for a free Kurdistan and free Abdullah Öcalan, for a free life that will flourish under the leadership of women and youth, join the Long March.”
Call from young people from Rojhilat
Youth from Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhilat) also issued a call from Frankfurt to join the Long March action. They condemned the Iranian state’s execution policies and emphasized that Abdullah Öcalan’s paradigm could provide solutions to global crises and chaos. The call ended with slogans.
