The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in a statement that “in a precise security operation, our Military Operations Teams (TOL), supported by the International Coalition, successfully captured a dangerous terrorist of ISIS sleeper cells in the city of Raqqa.”
The statement continued: “The operation was conducted following extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering on the movements and activities of the terrorist Ahmad al-Mahmoud, also known as Abu Mansour. After confirming his location, our forces moved swiftly to surround and capture him without any casualties.”
The statement added: “The captured terrorist was involved in a series of terrorist operations, including attacks against our SDF military points and Internal Security Forces, as well as attacks targeting civilian vehicles and residents with the intent of spreading fear and undermining stability.
Our SDF reiterate their unwavering commitment to pursuing ISIS remnants, dismantling their networks, and eliminating their financial and ideological resources. Our priority remains the protection of our people and the preservation of security and stability across all our regions.”
