Turkish army destroys nine civilian residences in Serêkaniyê

According to a statement released by the Serêkaniyê Migrant Committee on Friday, nine civilian houses were destroyed in Serêkaniyê’s Kaniya Hespê (Ên Îsan) village on March 22.

“The mercenary group called ‘Hamzat’, affiliated with the Syrian National Army, destroyed the houses of nine citizens in Serêkaniyê’s Kaniya Hespê (Ên Îsan) village on March 22, as Newroz celebrations were taking place. The group also looted the gardens of the nine citizens in question, to turn them into military training areas,” the statement said.

“As the Serêkaniyê Migrant Committee, we strongly condemn the barbaric practices against the local people whose homes and villages have been destroyed. We call on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities, to punish the armed groups affiliated with the Turkish state, and to end the occupation in our cities. We will report the crimes committed by the Turkish army and its mercenaries in the occupied areas until the people of Serêkaniyê return to their land,” the statement added.
