Turkish police detain dozens of people in Izmir

Turkish police raided many addresses in Izmir in the morning and detained dozens of people.

The raids took place in Menemen, Buca, Torbalı, Bayraklı and Konak districts.

Detention warrants were issued for 59 people on the grounds that they participated in the Newroz celebrations held in Gündoğdu Square on March 20.

It was learned that at least 45 people were detained during the raids.

The names of some of the those taken into custody are as follows: “Şeref Köseoğlu, Erkan Köseoğlu, Eyüp Köseoğlu, Davut Polat, Mervan Gümüş, Özlem Ağaçdelen, Yıldız Türk, Harun Yamaç, Dilan Karakoç, Serkan Yıldız, Furkan Karataş, Altan Çalar, Serhat Kaya, Hayat İzgi, Özgür Öztürk , Şervan Eridi, Aydın Çelebi, Robin Öner, Hogır Sevgi and Sait Pamuk.”
