HDP Cizre former District co-chair Tunç under investigation for sharing photos of Roboski victims
Güler Tunç became the subject of an investigation for commemorating the Roboski Massacre. On 27 December 2021, she paid tribute to the martyrs of Roboski and she also shared photos on social networks of Sêvê Demir, Fatma Uyar and Pakize Nayır, who were killed by an armored vehicle opening fire in Silopi on 4 January 2016.
The prosecutor called Tunç to give a statement within the scope of the investigation claiming that she made “propaganda for a terrorist organisation”.
Tunç went to the Cizre Police Department and gave a statement. She said: “I shared the photos to commemorate the people who were killed in Roboski. The 3 women who lost their lives in Silopi are members of the political party I belong to. I shared their photos to commemorate them on the anniversary of their death. My posts do not contain any propaganda. What I share is within the scope of freedom of thought.”
