Long march in Marseille on second day

At 11:00 a.m. on February 10, a three-day march demanding the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan began in front of the Martigues Municipality in Marseille.

The march is attended by 167 people from Marseille, Montpellier, Draguigan, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Avignon, and Marignan.

Following a minute of silence in front of the municipality, a statement was read aloud and a dossier was delivered to the municipality.

Activists wearing vests demanding the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan displayed banners with the same demand.

During the march led by the Kurdish women’s movement, pamphlets were distributed, banners demanding Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom were hung, and hundreds of signatures were collected.

The march’s first day was concluded in front of the Marignan Commune Municipality. The activists, who began their march from Marignan on the second day, will arrive at the St Antoine station in the evening hours.

At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, a central march from St. Antoine to Marseille’s Canabiere square will take place and the action will end with a rally in the square.
