TJK-E: Let’s stand together in Strasbourg for our honour
Spokeswoman of the Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E), Rabia Baldemir, called for participation in the central demonstration to take place in Strasbourg to protest the international conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.
TJK-E term spokeswoman Baldemir released a statement concerning the international conspiracy against the jailed Kurdish leader.
‘KURDS EXPOSED TO GENOCIDE’
“It has been 24 years since the international conspiracy. The leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Öcalan, has been held prisoner in Imrali High Security Prison since February 15, 1999,” Baldemir said.
“Öcalan is kept under unprecedented conditions of isolation by the fascist Turkish republic in defiance of international laws and conventions.”
“On the one hand, Turkey wants to keep the Kurds without a leader. On the other hand, the Kurds are exposed to genocide that targets their culture, language, identity and nature.”
‘LET’S BE PART OF AN HONORABLE STRUGGLE’
“The ideological stance of Öcalan and the growing resistance of the Kurdish people have partially frustrated this plot,” Baldemir stressed.
“The conspiracy is also of vital importance for capitalist modernity. The imprisonment of Öcalan contributed to the policies of war, conflict and polarization, which are important tools for the survival of the system. The democratic federalist paradigm introduced by Öcalan advocates peace and coexistence, not conflict between faiths and cultures. The equal, free, democratic nation paradigm promoted by Öcalan was disturbing the capitalist and imperialist systems.
Another target of the conspiracy against Öcalan was his pro-woman perspective. The international conspiracy targeted his perspective which encouraged women’s liberation. Like ISIS, male-dominated state systems imprisoned the Kurdish leader in a bid to enslave the women who aspire emancipation.
However, sexist, colonialist, racist and statist governments could not prevent Öcalan’s egalitarian and libertarian paradigm from spreading all over the world.
Women, youth, internationalists, socialists and libertarians who will come together in Strasbourg on the 24th anniversary of the conspiracy are endorsing not only Öcalan, but also all the social values he represents. We invite all those who support Öcalan’s freedom to be a partner and an ally of this honourable struggle!”
