3-day march for Öcalan launched in Paris

A three-day march against the international plot against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has begun today in the Drancy district of Paris, France, led by the Democratic Kurdish Council in France (CDK-F) and the Democratic Kurdish Women’s Movement in France (TJK-F).

Women took the lead in the cortege that gathered in front of the Drancy Train Station. Flags with images of Abdullah Öcalan were held beside the banner “Freedom for Öcalan, Right Now.”

The slogans of “Libéré Öcalan (Freedom for Öcalan)” did not stop during the march, which also attracted the attention of the residents. During the march, French pamphlets were read and distributed.

‘WE GAINED STRENGTH THANKS TO OUR LEADER’

After arriving at Drancy Municipality, activists made statements in the name of the CDK-F and TJK-F. Speaking on behalf of CDK-F, Necmettin Demiralp said, “Under the leadership of Rêber Apo (Abdullah Öcalan), the Kurdish people gained a certain level of strength for the first time, and a hope for liberation was awakened. And the sovereign states who saw this intervened with him, carrying out an immoral conspiracy against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. It should be known that Leader Apo is a philosopher, sociologist, as well as an ideologue, and scientist. That’s why they wanted to get rid of him.  It’s a shame that our leader is still imprisoned and hasn’t been released.”

Demiralp called for broad participation in the march to begin at 12:00 p.m. on February 12 in République Square.

Fevziye Erdemirci, speaking on behalf of the TJK-F, stated that they will remain on the streets until Abdullah Öcalan is freed. Erdemirci invited all women to join the rally which will take place on February 12.
