Long March in France continues on its third day

The Long March action which has been carried out for the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan for more than 20 years started in Sierentz, France this year and will end in Strasbourg.

The Long March which was launched in France to protest the international conspiracy against Abdullah Öcalan on February 15, 1999, is continuing with the participation of hundreds of young people.

The young activists have been walking for two days and continue their action despite the police intervention, attracting considerable attention from the French people.

The activists started the action at 11:00 in Colmar. A banner in French that read “We will liberate Öcalan with the will of the Apoist Youth” and banners that cited Öcalan’s remarks in English, French and Kurdish were displayed during the march.

During the Long March, signatures are also collected as part of the campaign to remove the PKK from the list of terrorist organizations.

Leaflets titled “Why should Öcalan’s physical freedom be secured?” are also distributed in public.

The young activists are continuing the march with enthusiasm, wearing yellow, red and green vests with Öcalan’s photo and the inscription “Werin Cenga Azadiyê”.

The number of young activists from Switzerland, Germany, France and different parts of Europe is increasing on each day of the march.

The young activists are expected to walk 16 kilometres today.

On its third day, the Long March will resume from the city of Colmar to the city of Ostheim.
