Hotz: The PKK is misrepresented in Europe

The petition campaign to remove the PKK from the terrorist list continues in Switzerland. One of the signatories of the petition is primary school teacher Simon Hotz, known for his art and music.

Simon Hotz, who is actively involved in the work of the GsoA (Switzerland Without Army Organisation), said that while the European countries are nice to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is a dictator for their own interests, they treat the PKK, which is a feminist, local democracy-based and anti-capitalist movement, as a terrorist organisation.

Hotz said that he was introduced to politics at a very young age and has always sided with Kurds. “I find Kurdish politics and struggle close to me. It is unacceptable to me that Europe turns a blind eye on the Turkish state’s oppression and persecution of the Kurdish people. European states prefer to ignore the practices of the Turkish dictatorial regime because of the commercial agreements they have with it.

The Turkish dictatorial regime should be exposed

Hotz said that the dictatorial regime under Erdoğan’s administration should be exposed in terms of international relations, and added: “It is clear that there is no democratic regime in Turkey and that the PKK is not a terrorist organization. The fact that the PKK is a people’s movement will only become clear when the dictatorship is exposed and the public is informed correctly.”
