KCK issues message of condolences for writer Haydar Işık
The KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency issued a message of condolences for the death of writer Haydar Işık.
The message said: “We are saddened to learn of the death of our esteemed Kurdish writer and friend of the freedom struggle, Haydar Işık. Our condolences to his family and all the people of Kurdistan.
Feeling the Dersim genocide in his head, heart and all his body, he was a valuable Dersim Kurdish son who did not let his anger subside towards those who committed this genocide until the last moment of his life. He never forgot and did not let those who were killed in the Dersim genocide be forgotten. Standing by his words, forgetting means betrayal, he wrote about the Dersim genocide and the genocide policies implemented in Dersim. His greatest wish was that the people of Dersim, and the younger generations would not forget this genocide. He wanted all Dersim people, especially the youth from Dersim, to take part in the struggle for Free Kurdistan and an Autonomous Dersim. With his novel Dersimli Memik Ağa he touched the hearts of all Dersim people and tried to ensure that the martyrs of the genocide and those who were persecuted are never forgotten.
Haydar Işık gave his life for the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people. He was the delegate of the first KONGRA-GEL, created in 2003 in line with the new paradigm of Rêber Apo. By participating in this congress, he assumed responsibility for the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people. All comrades at KONGRA-GEL liked Haydar Işık very much. They were impressed by his strong patriotic feelings.
Although Haydar Işık could not participate actively in the struggle due to his illness in recent years, he always supported the struggle. For him, the meaning of life was the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people.
The people of Dersim, the Kurdish people, and all their comrades in the freedom struggle will never forget him, and will respond to his longing by developing the struggle for freedom and democracy. May his soul walking towards the truth rest in peace.”
